Essay

The object of the research work is the role of mythological and Byblical proper names in poetonymogenesis. The target of the research is to single out semantic-stylistic properties and functions of mythological and Biblical names, their role in formation and development of literary poetonymy. The methods of comparative and contextual analysis of onym poetics, componential analysis of poetonym semantic structure, techniques of phonetic and etymological analysis are used in the work. The obtained results can be applied in the courses in stylistics of the Ukrainian, Russian and English languages, history of literature, special courses in poetic onomastics.
