YАLOVA O. Image of Ukraine on the Western and Russian Vectors of Foreign Politics.

The thesis deals with the problems of image formation in Russia, U.S.A. and Western Europe. The today's foreign theoretical developments in national imaging have been studied and compared with the scientific base of domestic social science.The prevalence of Russian and Western specialists and mass media in the affairs of the image formation of Ukraine has been found. The target difference between the viewpoints of Russian and Western political thought and national political establishments has been proved: in the first case, the objective of keeping Ukraine in the "Russian Realm" circle dominates, in the second, the criteria approach of estimating political system of Ukraine based on the compliance with European standards prevails. In the western direction of Ukraine's image formation, the American political thought and mass media prevail. The method of political analysis and synthesis in the combination with neorealist methodic outfit and normative appraisal has been applied which enabled the integralapproach to the formation of Ukrainian image in the chaotic system of international relations. This permitted to prove the expediency of accounting by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, m ass media and Ukrainian civil society organizations of the viewpoints of political thought and national and political circles of Russia and West and the realization of the integral approach to imaging business abroad. The great interest of Ukrainian state and society in the organization of the information and propaganda breakthrough on the Russian and Western vectors of foreign political affairs based on the adequate legislative provision, establishment of special television networks, publications of Ukrainian authors in English, etc. has been shown. For successful actions in the imaging realm, it is expedient also to strengthen legal responsibility of politicians, national figures and journalists for the occurrences of antinational propaganda for the benefit of specific financial and industrial groups.en analyzed and on thatbasis, the practical recommendations regarding the protection of national image and raising its rating in Russia and the West have been developed.
