Yurchenko K. Processes of integration in Africa: levels, factors, trends and principles of development (1960-2005)

The thesis presents the issue of integration in Africa from the point of establishment transcontinental organization. The foreign sources dedicated to Africa have been studied and compared with the domestic ones.For the first time in the Ukrainian political science the author discovered the pan-Africanism influence on the organization of unity of African states; pointed out causal relationship between the character of development of integration and the influence of global and national political, socio-economic processes; characterized the role and place of Organization of African Unity in the development of transcontinental integration. The main conception of political integration, that includes schemes implemented in the African continent, has been studied. The specific features of crisis trends in different spheres of the African integration have been studied as well on the examples of particular regional organizations. The possible tendencies and prospects in the AU's activities have been specifiedand estimated.
