Essay

The dissertation is devoted to elaboration of the theoretical and methodical bases for the geoinformation mapping of the Ukrainian Forestry. In the dissertation the Ukrainian Forestry as object of mapping is investigated. The retrospective analysis of this mapping experience is carried out. The growing of the new geoinformation approach to forestry mapping is proved. On this basis the new classifications of maps, direction and territorial levels of mapping are developed. On the basis of system methodology the conceptual model of cartographical system of cognition of the forestry is developed. It contains study of the component, spatial and organization-functional structures of object, system informational-cartographical modeling, drawing up, use and updating of maps. By the series of structural - graphic models of object the system of parameters for local, regional and national levels of mapping is worked out. The features of the forestry mapping technique based on a specialized GIS named "Forestry" are considered. GIS is used for formation of databases and creation of a geoinformation framework for subject mapping. The demonstration model of such GIS consisted from a relational database and three layers of the vector information (geographical basis, tracts of forest, spatial organization of forestry) is showed. The principles and sources of information maintenance of mapping are determined. The features of maps groups and kinds creation, the author's originals of 27 forestry maps regional and national levels are worked out. The techniques of drawing up of a synthetic map of resources-functional types of the forestry enterprises and cartographical investigation of the oldgrown forests with use of the GIS-analyses are developed.
