Rozhko O. Scientific and methodical principles of laying a large-scale electronic atlas of land resources of the administrative district

The dissertation analysed an experience of use and cartographic modelling of land resources based on modern Geographic Information technologies. The atlas model was designed and the methodologies of collecting, analysing, classifying, managing, information updating, formation of a GIS database that is needed for designing of electronic maps which outline the conditions of land resources were tested. As an example, Fastiv district of Kyiv region was taken with further analysing of the physical, geographical and socio-economic factors and conditions, which influence formation and conditions of soils and land resources. The conditions and use of land resources in the district were valuated (using modern computer technologies) with further displaying as the Large Scale e-Atlas of the conditions and use of the administrative district land resources. The set of measures, which are directed to provide a rational utilization, protection andrestoration of soil fertility in Fastiv district were justified.
