The dissertation researches the problems of using discussions as the facilities to increase educational motivation of 7-8 formers at the history lessons. The analysis of the history of research problem and its modern level in educational practice of Ukraine was taken. The definition of the discussion concept was given as a group of methods of stimulation of cognitive activities of the pupils the history lessons. The content and the methods of using the discussions at the history lessons with 7-8 formers were devised. With the help of the experiment the scale of the influence of the level of motivation of 7-8 formers was analysed.
