Research object: customary and ritual realities which is beside the death, funeral and honour of the memory of the deceased. Research purpose: composite scientific description of funeral rites of the Ukrainians of the northen-eastern part of the Ukraine - Slobozhanshchina - and its change during more than two centures of the scientific ethnografic studies. Research methods: field observation and questioning of the inhabitants, historical-comparative method of inquiry. problematical-chronological and cartographical. Novelty consist in: 1. it is a first special historical-ethnografical research of the funeral ritws of the Ukrainians of Slobidian Ukraine; authoress make periodization of the historiography of the problem; authoress find position of the local grups of Ukrainians by the materials of the their funeral fites; investigate complex of the different forms of attributes of the funeral rites of Slobidian Ukrainians: determine based version and variantions of this funeral rites and introduce new research facts.
