The dissertation focuses on substantiation and psychological meaning of the concept of students' professional self-development ability as a psychological formation that underlies, from theoretical perspective, the increasing effect that innovative technologies of instruction have on improvement of professional self-development ability in students. The ability concerned is de-fined as a complex multi-level structure, which constituents are the simpler capabilities and abili-ties corresponding to procedural and action components of the professional self-development as a specific activity. The current basic individual-cooperative technology of instruction was im-proved to the effect that professional self-development ability in students grew better, for which enhancement the technological process that manages academic subjects mastering was aug-mented to embrace some elements of psychological-pedagogical maintenance of this ability de-velopment, as well as elements of "enrichment" of instruction. The outcome of the experiment studying the dynamics of professional self-development ability's level of forming in students, proves that the upgraded individual-cooperative technology of instruction used for teaching both main and secondary academic subjects at the economic university affects the professional self-development ability in students in terms of promotion.
