Essay

The work is describing the research of cryopreservation effect on some biochemical and biophysical characteristics of human ovary follicular fluid, pro-cured from follicles of various sizes. Basing on the obtained data the author elabo-rated a cryopreservation method, involving direct plunging of samples with fol-licular fluid into liquid nitrogen. The obtained data allow to conclude that size of follicles reliably influences the composition of follicular fluid procured. Freeze-thawing of human follicular fluid and its storage at -196°C does not reliably effect the steroid hormones content and does not change the total hormonal profile of fol-licular fluid. Pro- and antioxidant balance of human follicular fluid after rapid freezing and long-term (1 year) storage at -196°C, and following hypothermic storage of frozen-thawed samples during 12 hrs at 4°C does not significantly change. Density, pH and osmotic pressure of human follicular fluid after freeze-thawing does not statistically and significantly change, while the dynamic viscosity of frozen-thawed follicular fluid increased in about 40%. Frozen-thawed follicular fluid added in 10% concentration to medium for sperm incubation statistically and significantly improves the kinetic properties of motile fractions of human sperm at astenozoospermy.
