Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the research into V. Grendzha-Donskyi's publicism of the 1920s-1930s in Transcarpathia. A pioneering attempt at a complex research into V. Grendzha-Donskyi's publicism within the context of the socio-political and spiritual processes occuring between the two world wars in Transcarpathia is made in the dissertation. In the process of argumenting the basic tenets of the paper it is demonstrated that in the conditions of struggle on the part of the enslaved nation publicism is an inseparable component and a means of political struggle. The paper also maintains that in these conditions literature inevitably acguires a degree of publicism, and a publicist objectively reflecting the reality adheres to the traditional values of his / her nation finally comes to the idea of statehood and a struggle for it.
