Essay

The object – training scientific personnel of humanitarian specialities in magistracy and postgraduate study. The aim consisted in determining, theoretical grounding and experimental approving of pedagogical conditions which contribute to training Masters of Arts and post-graduate students of humanitarian specialities to apply the means of mathematical statistics in an effective way. The methods: theoretical, empirical, statistical. Theoretical results and novelty –the essence of the phenomenon “mathematical and statistical literacy” as the final result of the process of training Masters of Arts and postgraduate students of humanitarian specialities to apply the means of mathematical statistics was scientifically grounded and defined for the first time; the criteria, indicators and characteristics of levels development of mathematical and statistical literacy of researchers in humanitarian field were revealed and described; the pedagogical conditions that promote the effective process of training future researchers of humanitarian specialities to apply the means of mathematical statistics were grounded; the notion of “implementation of mathematics in Arts”, “mathematical competence”, “mathematical culture” was specified. Practical results and novelty – the methodical provision of the process of training post-graduate students and Masters of Arts to apply the means of mathematical statistics and techniques of mathematical and statistical literacy levels development among post-graduate students and Masters of Arts were experimentally tested and worked out. The subject and degree of introduction - the contents of psychological and pedagogical subjects were renovated; the special course "The Basics of the theory of probability and mathematical statistics" was elaborated and experimentally tested. The effectiveness of introduction is high. The branch – pedagogical, higher institutions of pedagogical education, magistracy and postgraduate study of humanitarian specialities.
