Pysarenko K. International Law Aspects of Ukraine's Participation in the Struggle against the Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs

The dissertation researches the current legal relations in the area of international cooperation in the struggle against the illicit traffic in narcotics, investigates priority actions that oppose the expansion of drug addiction and prevent crimes connected with the illegal traffic in drugs, precursors and psychotropic substances. The work also analyses fulfillment of the international obligations of Ukraine, explores relevant legal issues of opposing illegal drug business as an international crime; and assesses the possibilities for the use of international experience in the improvement of Ukrainian internal legislature and the national strategy. The work identifies the character and specific features of transnational drug traffic crimes, reviews basic stages in the formation of the international legal system and analyses the work of the present international institutional system in the area of crime prevention in the illegal traffic in drugs. The work also presents a research of forms and tools for Ukraine's participation in the international struggle against the illegal traffic in drugs.
