Purehovskaya O. The Russian Baroque specifics of the 17th century in Simeon Polotsky's prose.

The dissertation is devoted to studying of the Baroque domestic literature in a context of rhetorical traditions, in particular - to research of Simeon Polotsky's prose, considered in a context of its all creativity. The facts of the biography and creativity of the writer are specified, systematized and are in a new fashion comprehended in work, additions to an image of the author are made, whose person is considered from positions of Orthodoxy. The complex analysis of Simeon Polotsky's prosaic heritage is offered, the attention is accented on the literary sermon of XVII century as a special genre of Russian literature of the specified period. Features of Simeon Polotsky's style, connected with its ideologically-aesthetic searches which are analyzed in a context of art styles and directions of an epoch. Simeon Polotsky, creating the Word as the literary cultural metatext of liturgical character, often offers religious-philosophical and theological treatises to the reader.
