Abdugemilev R. Mehmed Senai's Chronicle as the Monument of the Crimean Tatar Literature of the 17th century

In the dissertation the Chronicle by Mehmed Senai "Tarikh-i Islam Geray Khan" as the monument of the 17th century Crimean Tatar Literature is under research. The thesis presents general information about the Chronicles, their formation and development in the literatures of Turkic-Muslim peoples is traced. In the work the degree of the study of "Tarikh-i Islam Geray Khan" in home and foreign literature criticism is determined, the information about the writing's author is provided. The genre specificity and the features of the Chronicle's composition are defined. The issue of the plot's reference to historical authenticity is under consideration. The main principles and methods of creating images in "Tarikh-i Islam Geray Khan" are highlighted. The patriotic pathos, the language and the style, the author's speech, poetic inserts, religious context and out-of-plot chapters of the Chronicle are analyzed.
