Mrouga M. The structural and functional model of professional competence of future physician as a foundation for assessment of his professional attributes.

Thesis is devoted to scientific basis of professional competence modeling for its assurance, to soundness and completeness of Ukrainian model of professional competence of future physicians and choice of assessment methods depending on used model. In the thesis the concept of competence is analyzed, the concept of professional competence of physician is defined, the assumption that learning theories influence on professional competence of future physicians was studied, Ukrainian model was compared with 4 relevant foreign models; these analysis allowed to identify insufficient and redundant content areas in Ukrainian model and proved its theoretical soundness. It's shown that different assessment methods should be selected for full-fledged assessment of competence; choice of methods depends upon used model; the complex system of professional competence assessment should encounter the properties of methods and methods' ability to cover all professional attributes that form professional competence.
