Essay

Paper presents the theoretical generalization and new approach in problem solving for working out the diagnostics of EDG using the synthetic lubricants in the oil system of an internal combustion diesel with S-shaped rheologic characteristics which allows increasing the efficiency of energy generation and EDG stability. The approach presented in the paper is new in marine engineering. The work presents further development of Gorev-Park mathematical model which allows describing an EDG operating characteristics. The suggested model, describing the operating processes in EDG was subjected to comparative theoretical and experimental verification. The difference between theoretical calculation based on the above mentioned model and received practical figures does not exceed 10 %. The imple-mentation of the results received during the research on board the Ukrainian vessels allows increasing the safety of navigation, to decrease the operational expenses connected with EDG repair and maintenance up to 10 - 15 %. The obtained results may also be implemented in the Ukrainian Navy and fishing boats.
