Essay

The object of the research was the phenomenon of increase of efficiency of diesel power plants of marine transport vessels. The nominal and specified output of minimal standard size low-speed engines (LSE) in marine power plants (MPP), as well as reducing gear in propulsion complex with these engines is the subject of research. The aim of research in definition rational output characteristics and structure propulsion complex with such LSE by comparison of variants MMP of transport vessels at a stage of designing. Mathematical simulation was used as the research method. Theoretical and practical results obtained: expedients to determine the LSE propeller characteristics value fields, propulsive complex rational characteristics, optimum output characteristics for minimal standard size LSE, and rationality in using reducing gear with such an LSE. The results are used in design organization "Chernomorsudnoproject" PJSC, shipping company "Yugreftransflot" PJSC, and are also included in the educational process of the ONMA and NUSh. The field is marine power plants.
