The dissertation is dedicated to investigation of the history of M.M.Grishko National Botanical Gardens of NAS of Ukraine. The complete and substantial investigation of precondition for the Garden creation and following development was carried out. The main stages of the Botanical gardens development was traced by an examination of archive, scientific and literary sources. The contribution of some prominent researches into creation of scientific project of the Botanical Gardens contribution, collection formation and it development as scientific institution were analyzed. The main achievements of the Botanical Gardens' scientists are presented and the directions of scientific investigations are outlined.
