Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the development of an academically grounded classification of questions and determination of ways to implement them in the process of intercommunication of the investigator (judge) with other participants of the criminal proceedings with the goal to receive evidence. The author analyzed various academic approaches to the definition of contents of the question, identified its significant characteristics, its place within the system of criminalistics and suggested her own definition for “question” as a notion. The author studied informational structure of the question and unveiled its psychological essence as conditioned by such factor as psychological influence. Based on the comprehensive academic analysis of the kinds, types and forms of questions as well as their division grounds the author was the first to develop the academically grounded classification of questions for criminalistics. She studied peculiarities of posing and formulating questions, their situational dependence and functions in the system of investigative actions. She developed a general information model for posing questions allowing to build algorithms for developing questions and facilitated the process of optimal decision-making.
