Об'єкт дослідження - the public relations which arise up on the stage of pre-trial investigation in relation to the face of defendant. Мета дисертації - making of suggestions in relation to perfection of mechanism of providing of rights and legal interests of defendant on the stage of pre-trial investigation. Методи дослідження - historical-legal; rather-legal;sociological, systems analysis. Наукова новизна - first on the basis of comprehensive analysis the described legal nature of concept of attracting of person as a defendant; differentiating of terms is carried out "decision about producing prosecution" and "decision about bringing in as a defendant"; concerne basic directions of activity of office public of prosecutor on the separate stages of pre-trial investigation in relation to providing of rights and legal interests of defendant. Практичне значення - conclusions and suggestions of dissertation can be used: in a scientifically-research sphere - for subsequent scientific developments of scienceof criminal process and practice of application of judicial norms; in the field in the process of preparation of new СPС Ukraine, project of Law "On the system of organs of pre-trial investigation in Ukraine" and other normative acts; in-process at preparation of trains and aids on a criminal process, at teaching of course of criminal process and special courses. Предмет і ступінь впровадження - conclusions and suggestions are used in the process of preparation of project of Law "On the system of organs of pre-trial investigation in Ukraine" (act of introduction after 06-19/15-530 from April, 21, 2004 Committee on the questions of the legislative providing of law-enforcement activity of Supreme Soviet of Ukraine). Ефективність впровадження - conclusions and the offers have received a positive rating of the experts. Сфера використання - law and practical activity of the law-enforcement agencies of Ukraine and educational process.
