Rogozha M. O.M. Nikolsky (1858 - 1942) activity in the context of development of biological science

The Dissertation for candidate's degree on History in speciality 07.00.07 - History of Science and Technology. - Kyiv University of Transport Economics and Technology. - Kyiv, 2007. Research work is devoted to the complex investigation of life and scientific activity of outstanding Ukrainian zoologist - O.M.Nikolsky. Formation and scientific development of O.M.Nikolsky personality as the scientist and individuality and main principles of his scientific activity are characterized at the base of involving of considerable number of sources. Main trends of O.M.Nikolsky scientific researches are analyzed. It is proved, that the scientist was the first who had made complete systematic report of reptiles, amphibia and fishes of the Russian Empire in general, and of Ukraine in particular. His scientific and pedagogical contribution had become the ground for further development of new ideas and conceptions in biological investigations.
