Object of research - development of a biological science in Ukraine of the end XIX - first third XX of century. Subject of research - activity of P.P. Susnkina in the field of zoology (in particular of comparative anatomy), palaeontology, evolution, and also in organization of domestic scientific - educational process. The research was carried out with the help of complex use of principles of historical reliability, objectivity, sequence, dialectic understanding of historical process. The important way of the decision of a problem is application common scientific (typology, classification), between subject (structural - system approach), historical (problematic-chronological, rather - historical, descriptive) methods of research, and also methods of source science and historical-graphical analysis.
