The dissertation investigates the influence of budget deficits on main macroeconomic activities (current account, dynamic of industrial production, growth of GDP, exchange rate, interest rate and investment) of Central European Countries (CEC), as the most integrated index of fiscal policy. The most adequate theoretical instrument, which can explain the phenomena of rush deterioration of the budget deficits of CEC on the threshold of EU integration, is the model of intertemporal optimization of consumption.
