Karapira S. Selection of parental plants of single cross and triple sunflower hybrids for adaptivity and combining ability of agronomic traits

Object: breeding of sunflower on a heterosis. Purpose: determination and experimental substantiation of distinctive features of simple and triple hybrids of sunflower and their paternal forms after important plant-breeding - genetic parameters, in particular, by combinative ability, adaptiveness, ecological stability. Novelty: correlation and regressive relationship of common combining ability and specific combining ability of maternal lines and hybrids on traits of productivity with the level of productivity of simple and triple hybrids of sunflower, and also the parameters of their adaptiveness and ecological stability in the conditions of northern Black Sea area are investigated first. Results: the new integral index of estimation of maternal lines and hybrids after combinative ability is offered, that provides the selection of simple and triple hybrids with maximal oil performance. Adoption level: the best lines and male-sterile simple hybrids have been selected and recommended for the wide usagein breeding with the purpose of creation of highly productive simple and triple hybrids of sunflower.
