Essay

The thesis presents the results of numerical and experimental researches of thermogasdynamic parameters of gas flow in the model of centrifugal compressor return channel. The essence of the thesis is the creation of calculation method for gas flow in the elements of return channel, taking into account the non-constant flow nature of gas stream on entrance in return channel and gaining the experimental data about the flow structure in a return bend and vane cascade of return channel with the profiled vanes. The mathematical and computer model of gas flow in return bend of the return channel is developed, taking into account the flow unevenness at inlet of the return channel. The model was used to perform numerical researches of return bends with different geometrical parameters. Adjustment of calculation model of gas flow in return channel vane cascade is performed with the use of the experimental findings concerning flow pressure and speed distribution on vane cascade steps. Comparison of the flow parameters results and experimental information has confirmed the possibility of the offered method usage for conducting of numerical researches of return channel of centrifugal compressor.
