An object of research is a process of professional pedagogical preparation of future teachers of history. Purpose of research - to develop, to ground scientifically and approve an experimental methodology and pedagogical terms of forming social values of future teachers of history in the process of professional preparation. Methods of research: theoretical,empiric, statistical. Theoretical results and novelty: the notion "social values of future teacher of history" and pedagogical terms of their forming in the process of professional preparation were defined and scientifically grounded. Criteria, indexes and levels of formation of social values of future teachers of history are defined. The essence of notions "values", "social values", "historical thinking" is specified. Practical results and novelty consists of development of experimental methodology of forming social values of future teachers of history; special course "Social values, their role and place in society". An object of research is pedagogical terms of forming social values of future teachers of history. Efficiency of introduction is high. A region is pedagogical, higher establishments of pedagogical education, institute of the in-plant of teachers training.
