On the basis of analysis of a big amount of archive and statistic sources the process of a settling of Poles, Germans and Armenians in Pokuttya is analyzed, dynamics of a quantity of ethnic minorities, a demographic structure of the region are given in the dissertation. Main stages and places of their compact and dispersive settling are shown. The forms of an economic activity of these ethnic minorities are characterized; peculiarities of their architecture, food and clothes are studied. Peculiarities of family, religious and social life, their calendar ritualism are shown. The process of formation and activity of Polish, German and Armenian educational institutes in Pokuttya are reproduced. A role of cultural-educational, religious institutes in preservation of national identity is elucidated. Colonists' contribution to a social-economic and cultural development of the region is shown and acculturation and assimilation processes are characterized.
