Zvyagin A. Development of winter bread wheat original material adapted to the north-eastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine

Subject: winter bread wheat breeding for adaptivity, productivity and grain quality. Aim: determination of selection value by choice of parental forms with different level of intensity and development of new initial material for winter wheat selection for resistance to unfavorable growing conditions. Methods: field, breeding, measure-weight, statistical. Novelty: adaptive potential of extensive, semi-intensive and intensive varieties of winter wheat is established; breeding valuable forms and cultivars with a high potential of productivity and grain quality and adaptive properties are developed. Results: there has been supported the efficiency for selection of the parental forms with a different adaptive and productive potential which provides a point of the development of a new initial material and high yielding cultivars of winter wheat with new adaptive properties. Application stage: 7 lines valuable for their complex features were sent for their registration to CPGRU and for trial to Donetsk IAPP,Poltava SAA; Dosconala a cultivar of winter bread wheat, with increased adaptive, productive and qualitative potential, which was sent to SVT, has been developed.
