Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problem of formation and development of pedagogical foundation for assessing the knowledge level at higher educational institutions in Ukraine and the USA. Currently, the development of education puts forward a lot of new tasks concerning, first of all, the improvement of the quality of future specialists with higher education. The latest changes in the system of education put forward a number of tasks dealing with qualitative improvement in training of future specialists in higher educational establishments not only in Ukraine, but also in the USA.Adaptation of future specialists to new conditions of work and their professional activities are of special importance. However, contradictions between the current aim of the higher education and the results achieved are becoming most evident by future specialists. That accounts for the development of pedagogical principles of assessing students' level of knowledge as well as identification of ways and methods for their implementation in teaching a subject.
