Essay

In the process of work, the author has detected MS hybrids of domestic and foreign origin, which are the most resistant and the most susceptible to Fusarium rot. Shares of influence of genotype of a variety (hybrid), stages of development, weather conditions and their interrelation and resistance trait structure were determined; features of inheritance and phenotypic expression of resistance character of sugar beet breeding material to root rots in the period of vegetation were detected. A correlative connection of the influence of the main factors on the development of root rot pathogens was established. Varieties-indicators of different levels of sugar beet root injury with Fusarium rot were established: the hybrid Gala - susceptible to disease injury, the hybrid Lgov-Verkhnyatskiy MS 31 - average susceptible and the hybrid Ukrainskiy MS 70 - low susceptible. With the aim of accurate distribution of breeding material according to resistance character, the scale' of evaluation of intensity of Fusariumrot injury was modified. Main results of investigations have found their application and implementation in the sugar beet breeding process.
