Blinova N. Functional and stylistic aspect of lexical transformations in publicistic text by I.Franko (1878 - 1907)

The object of the work is to investigate publicistic texts by I.Franko (1878 - 1907)/ The aim is to investigate functional and stylistic aspects of lexical transformations as the system organization of language unity in correspondence to stylistic and communicative tasks of I.Franko's publicistic texts. For achievement of the aim of the dissertation work the methods of system analyses, empiric, descriptive, structural and semantic analyses, transformational, distributive and some elements of the statistic analyses were used. The thesis is devoted to the complex research of functional and stylistic aspect of lexical transformations (the systematic organization of the image and speaking unity due to the stylistics and communicative tasks) in publicistic worcs by I.Franko (1878 - 1907). The process of historical and theoretical background of trope formation and development and its items in Ukrainian and foreign language studies is under research. The features of trope imaginarity are defined. The scientific results in the sphere of Franko's publicistic language made by language scholars, are analysed and summarized. The second chapter defines the metaphor's model and its functional and stylistic role. The third chapter represents the lexical units, mainly applied in the metonymic transformation mechanism, their classification system is given. The functional aspect of metonymic transformations in toponymical and antroponimical units is under study. The specificity of the author's using metonymical units is represented. The fourth chapter defines the thematical field of lexical units, able to be used as synekdohe and researces the functions of syneckdohe in the publicistic worcs by I.Franko. The sphere of usage of the dissertation work is investigations of lexicological, applied linguistics problems, stylistics, lexicology and works deal with individual author's style, publicistics as one of the functional styles and Franko's language as certain lingual and cultural phenomenon.
