The thesis is devoted to the problem of the formation of professionally important qualities of gas-and-smoke defenders-protectors-cadets. The work gives specification of the essence of professionally important personal qualities and defines their structure for gas-and-smoke protectors-rescuers as a unity of mental, administrative, motivational, attention, and mnemonic, emotionally volitional and physical qualities. Their professional peculiarities and the level of development of the mentioned groups of qualities of officers and cadets are established. Training program for the formation of cadets' professionally important qualities needed for the future service as a gas-and-smoke protector-rescuer was worked out and approbated.
