Kyrychenko A. Psychological readiness of the Airborne Assault Troops servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to operate in combat conditions

The dissertation is devoted to the problem of developing the psychological readiness of the Airborne Assault Troops servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to operate in combat conditions. The relevance of scientific work is determined by: firstly, the need for an increased level of psychological readiness of Airborne Assault Troops capable of performing any tasks in the deep rear of the enemy, as well as conducting combat operations in various types of operations; secondly, the experience of military units and units of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (until 2017 – High Mobility Airborne Forces) in the combat zone, especially at the initial stage of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014. During this period, in some military units of the airborne troops, the level of psychological unpreparedness of the personnel to perform assigned tasks became critical, which was reflected in numerous refusals of servicemen to perform assigned tasks, an increase in the level of psychogenic losses, etc. The experience of the Russian-Ukrainian war shows that the modern war not only makes strict demands on the moral and physical strength of a person, but is also a permanent process of military personnel psycho traumatization. In a modern armed confrontation, the side that not only physically better prepares the personnel, but also correctly determines the psychological readiness of the paratroopers to act in the specified conditions, wins. thirdly, the recent creation of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated November 21, 2017 and the specifics of the tasks. The analysis of the scientific development state of the issue showed the lack of a sufficient number of scientific works on the study of the psychological readiness development of the Airborne Assault Forces servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In general, the works of V. Stasiuk and O. Blinov (1999) related to the formation of emotional stability in paratroopers for service and combat activities are tangential to the topic of the dissertation research. Thus, the relevance of the raised issue, its insufficient development in the theory and practice of modern psychology, as well as contradictions determined the choice of the our research topic.
