Trofimyak O. History of becoming and functioning of the Donetsk railway’s lines (1861 – 1917).

Dissertation is devoted complex research of becoming and functioning of the Donetsk railway’s lines in the period from 1861 to 1917. Analyzed historical conditions and the influence of the main factors that necessitated the construction of railway lines in Donetsk. It was studied during pre-construction works and building of the lines, it shows the formation of the railway network. It was studied the work of scientists and engineers (N.A. Belelyubskij, P.N. Gorlov, V.A. Titov, N.E. Dolgov, A.S. Raevsky, N.P. Petrov), at the Donetsk railway lines in many aspects of the development of rail transport, such as: the rail and railway management, the construction of railway bridges and tunnels, development of additional engineering services, locomotive and wagon services, the transport process management, economic of rail transport). Implemented a comprehensive analysis of the functioning of the Donetsk railway’s lines, it show their importance to the establishment and development of railway transport of Ukraine, their influencing on the socio-economic situation of the Donetsk region.
