Essay

The dissertation examines the role and significance of the mechanisms of international control in the sphere of human rights. The author investigates the activities of the main supervisory bodies created within the framework of UN and other universal organizations as well as regional organizations. Concerning UN he stresses the role of Commission on Human Rights of the Economic and Social Council, Sub-commission on the Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, Commission on Status of Women and investigating the supervisory bodies for the monitoring of implementation of particular Convention he shows the role of such organs as Human Rights Committee, Сommittee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, Committee on the Torture, Committee on the Elimination of the Racial Discrimination. Great attention is paid to the investigation of supervisory bodies of Human Rights within the frameworks of Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) The author formulates theoretic conception of mechanism of international control in the field of human rights, shows its main elements, traces the ways of improvement supervisory mechanisms in the sphere of Human Rights. Due attention is paid to such procedures in the work of supervisory bodies as surveys, reports, studies, studies of reports.
