Essay

Subject: identification of winter bred wheat genotypes being valuable as to their grain quality based on the polymorphism of storage proteins. Aim: to determine information value of high molecular glutenin allelis variants for increasing the selection efficiency of valuable genotypes in winter bred wheat breeding for grain quality and the reliability of the gene pool identification and passportization. Methods: hybridization, field, laboratory, mathematic-statistic. Novelty: there is determined the information value of high molecular glutenin allelis variants by the complex of the technological- biochemical traits of grain quality. There is shown a codominant type of heritability in HMG allelic variants at the intracultivar hybridization of winter bred wheat. Results: the frequency of distribution of HMG allelic variants in the world variety gene pool of winter bred wheat have been determined. The sources of the technological biochemical traits of grain quality have been found. The improved classification system of winter bred wheat varieties of grain quality being conditionally inherent has been proposed. The new original material for grain quality breeding of winter bred wheat has been released. Application stage: 5 lines were introduced into the breeding program of the PPI and at present they are being under the studies at MIP, Poltavskaya SAA and have been sent to the NCPGRU storage. There have been created 2 cultivars of winter bred wheat in the cooperation. Application area: breeding institutions, AIC of Ukraine.
