This work researches the experience of the CEЕ countries - new members of the EU in order to justify the strategies and regulatory mechanisms for Ukraine's economic development under conditions of globalization. Тhe consequences of the EU expansion have been assessed and optimal strategies outlined in furtherance of a deeper European integration. The trends and prospects for transformation of Ukraine's foreign trade activity in the context of implementation of strategies for structural and technological change in the national economy have been revealed.
