Essay

Thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the legal status of International Committee of the Red Cross in international law. The scientific research deals with the investigation of the legal nature of International Committee of the Red Cross and legal grounds of activity of this nongovernmental organization. A list of international rights and duties of International Committee of the Red Cross is outlined on the basis of examination of valid treaty and custom norms of international law. The issue of International Committee of the Red Cross' legal personality indicates that it represents special subject of international law. Particular attention is drawn to legal state of International Committee of the Red Cross, its internal organizational mechanism and its intercommunication with other subjects of international law, namely between states and international organizations. Key notice is a taken International Committee of the Red Cross influence on formation, development and codification of international humanitarian law norms. Thesis suggests basic forms of this organization's influence on the shaping of the doctrine, custom and treaty norms which provide legal regulation of waging war conflicts and protection of rights of the victims of war.
