The dissertation is concerned with the problem of forming students' vocation-cognitive orientation at higher medical educational establishments by means of foreign languages. Theoretic basis of the problem was investigated, the essence, structure, mechanism of formation motives and interests were developed. The model of forming students' vocation-cognitive orientation was worked out. There were grounded pedagogical conditions, criteria, indexes and levels of vocation-cognitive orientation development. There was suggested an effective methodology of students' vocation-cognitive orientation and the experimental control was done.
