Essay

Dissertation is devoted to peculiarities of ischemic heart disease course in patients after stenting of coronary arteria. The aim of the work was to establish dependence of life quality changes, level of blood serum homocystein, lipid spectrum of blood, activity of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) in blood plasma as well as structural-functional changes of general carotid arteria with peculiarities of IHD course in patients who underwent stenting of coronary arteria. There were examined 102 patients with WD, 55 of them underwent stenting of coronary arteria, and 47 patients who were on medication. The patients were examined at the onset of treatment, in 6 months and 24 months after treatment. All patients received statins, (beta-blockers, ACE ingibition, aspirin, nitroglycerin if needed. After stenting of coronary arteria the patients received anti-aggregant therapy (aspirin+ klopidogrel). It may be considered that the most essential and authentic findings which influenced the number of cardiac complications in IHD patients after surgery are: the meaning of carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) more than 0,9 mm, rise of total cholesterol level, LDL cholesterol and BMI > than 25 kg/m2. So, in the work the possibility of usage of the meaning of carotid intima-media thickness as a factor which worsens IHD prognosis after performed surgery is proved. For the first time the link between CIMT finding and activity of blood plasma ACE as well as necessity of achieving target levels of LDL in IHD patients after the surgery for prophylaxis of cardiac complication was established
