Khoroz N. Transformations of phraseologism’s in the texts of modern Croatian newspapers

The object: Croatian transformed phraseologisms. The aim: to define functional, semantic and pragmatic peculiarities of Croatian transformed phraseologisms in modern newspaper texts. Scientific novelty: complex analysis of Croatian phraseologisms transformation methods is made for the first time; the most frequent transformation methods (antapodosis) is revealed and examined; science is enriched by new terms which describe the essence of the mentioned phenomenon in a clearer way. Methods: distributional and descriptive methods, method of contextual analysis, transformational analysis, comparative method, method of stylistic analysis, methodology of quantitative calculations. The results of the research may be used for further scientific research of transformations, as well as for the teaching of Croatian phraseology to the students of Slavic studies. It can also be used in conducting special courses on lexicology, stylistics, theory and practice og translation to the Slavic studies students, includingpractice of translation to the students of international relations.
