Subject of research - the genetic nature of phenomenon of fodder beet line self-fertility and its heredity in inbred generations. The purpose - the establishment of genetic nature of self-fertility in fodder beet and opportunities of its use in breeding, the obtaining of new self-fertile lines and creation of new self-fertility donors. The methods are field, laboratory, mathematical and statistical. The value and novelty of research - for the first time the two -level incompatibility reaction control is determined, new self-fertility lines and donors with high seed viability index as well lines with high cross-breeding ability that have valuable economic indices. The obtained new lines exceed the variety-standart of fodder beet Red Daryna on the dry matter content in the root. Introduction - the developed lines are used in breeding programmes at the National Research Centre ''Institute of Agriculture of the UAAS'', the All-Ukrainian Research Institute of breeding and the Institute of Sugar beet Growing. The branch of application - breeding research institutions.
