Sadov'yak I. Scientific substantiation of a system for preventing women's reproductive function disorders and children's health under conditions of endemic region

The thesis focuses on first revealed peculiarities of real incidence of diffuse nontoxic goiter and other thyroid pathology in puberty schoolchildren in an endemic region as well as the dependence between thyroid pathology and reproductive function disorders in women of the investigated region has been determined. A qualitavely new system of preventing women's reproductive function disorders and preserving children's health living under iodine deficiency conditions, has been scientifically substantiated and developed, which includes both traditional elements (endocrinology consulting rooms, departments, dispensaries, research institutions) and principally new ones. A Specialized Center for Preventing and Treating Iodine-Deficiency Diseases has been created for the first time in Ukraine based on Kolomyis'ka Central District Hospital, Ivano-Frankivs'ka region, which provides prophylactic measures and medico-sanitary care according to an integrated cycle - from a baby birth up to his/her reproductive age.
