Essay

The object is a future teachers' foreign language didactic speech activity. The purpose is to work out, theoretically ground and experimentally test the methodological issues of future English language teachers’ skill development to use the prosodic means is a foreign language monologic didactic discourse to teach junior schoolchildren. Methods are theoretical, empirical, diagnostic, and statistical. Novelty: for the first time the contents, the structure and the methodological principles of future teachers’ training to use prosody in a foreign language didactic discourse have been grounded; the criteria and indicators of developing the students’ skills to use the prosodic means in English didactic discourse aimed at junior schoolchildren have been worked out. Results: a system of exercises has been introduced; a linguadidactic model of future teachers’ readiness to teach prosody to junior schoolchildren has been delivered. The methodological issues of introducing prosodic aspect to junior schoolchildren in the course of training future English language teachers have been theoretically grounded, practically elaborated and tested. Efficiency of innovation – high. Area – a pedagogical, high schools, primary schools.
