Essay

The given research deals with a comparative study of the effects of cryodestruction, extracts of spleen and liver and their combined action on the regenerative processes in the cirrotic liver. Combined application of tissue extracts and local hepatodestruction has been found to exercise the highest regeneration-stimulating effect on the functional activity of the injured liver, while shortening by 2-fold the period, required for its regeneration, as compared with the separate application of the above technique, which is verified by a complete normalization of all the studied hepato-dependent metabolic markers, occurring much earlier (already by the 14th day).
