Essay

Object: traditional calendar-ceremonial culture of winter cycle of Western Podillya. Aim: to carry out the reconstruction of winter calendar rite of Western Podillya taking into account transformation processes which took a place during a centuries-old historical period under act of christian church and in the conditions of the newest times. Methods: historical-typological, comparative, functional, geographical, reconstructing, questioning, questionnaire, statistical. Results: the christmas calendar rite of Western Podillya is complex analysed in the context of winter holidays of different sentinel and spatial ethnic cultural cuts, the field ethnographic materials of candidate for a degree did possible reconstructing and clarification of senses of old folk traditional ceremonial elements. Sphere of the use: scientific, educational.
