There was the attempt in the dissertation on the baze of complex analyze of publishing materials and newfounded archives as so as old books to appreciate the role and significance of printing in the development of Ukrainian culture in the second half of XVI - XVIII сent. The historical conditions and tendencies of development of Ukrainian book printing of the certain time are disclosed. The specialities of printing on the East and the West of Ukrainian lands are elucidated as so as the printing contacts and the modes of cooperation between the printing houses are defined. The ways and forms of publishing production and the peculiarities of migrations of old books in the church practice and scientific and educational activity are investigated. The significance of printing for the development of Ukrainian culture in the second half of XVI - XVIII сent. is characterized.
