The dissertation is dedicated to the genesis and development of contemporary choreographic art of XX th century. The dissertation provides the critical analysis of the works of art historians in this field and focuses on important problems of contemporary choreography such as: history, choreographers, ballets, dance, and technique. The term contemporary choreographic is determined in the dissertations. Also we describe sources of XX th century contemporary choreographic culture and its factors and peculiarities. In the dissertation we show the process of development of XX th century contemporary choreographic art as entire phenomenon. And also we analyze current and synthetic dance forms. In the dissertation contemporary situation of XX th century chorographical art is determined by the trends - impressionism, neoclassism, modernism, postmodernism. Styles - jazz, tep, modern, rock & pop, neoclassique, postmodern, buto. Varieties - performance, modern jazz dance, improvisаtion, contemporary (contemporain) dance, hip-hop dance, tep dance.
