Essay

In the dissertation a psychological analysis of the problem of self-understanding as a structural component of self-consciousness of a personality is made. As the result of the research the key conceptual theoretical ways to the problem of self-understanding are defined, the essence of basic definition is revealed, a modern state of the problem of self-understanding in home and foreign pedagogical and psychological science is elucidated (explained), and the notions "self-understanding", "self-consciousness" and "self-treatment" are correlated as well. A specific character of the development of professional self-understanding on the gender-sexual basis - boys and girls - future pedagogues is examined. In the revealed foreshortening the main criteria and functions of self-understanding and its interrelationship with personal characteristics of girls and boys are theoretically stated and experimentally proved. A methodical thesaurus of studying self-understanding in the youth age is offered, the ways andconditions of its development are revealed. The influence of self-understanding on the success of the activity of boys and girls is established, the importance of the system of values on the development of "I-conception" and self-understanding in particular. The main results of the dissertation are introduced into the educational process of Higher pedagogical educational establishments and secondary schools.
