Essay

The dissertation deals with the psycho-analytical interpretation of T. Osmachka's personality during the period of Bolsheviks occupation of Ukraine. The work also analyses the correlation of the writer's psychobiography and his literary activity. Bolshevism rejecting national creative tradition and promoting modern cosmopolitical ideas proposes unique psychological material which can be used for the correct estimation of the phenomenon of creative activity in the conditions of total repression. The Ukrainian social catastrophe for T. Osmachka became a main projection for his literary activity as way out of the catastrophic oppression. His literary works expressed the Ukrainian profound desire to overcome depreciation of national creative process. T. Osmachka's fiction associated subjective psychics and social character, also expressed the situation in which absence of social freedom causes protective aggression in the form of an honest word. Tanatic and demonic ideas for reflection of human's destructivity are central in Osmachka's works. Traumatic Bolsheviks social character had a negative influence on psychology of the Ukrainian writer's literary activity. The main object of his fiction is psychology of sacrifice verbalized with rebellious images.
